2025

BONFANTITALGRU S.p.A. is born

BONFANTITALGRU is today a point of reference in material handling and turnkey production logistics, vertically integrated, equipped with the latest technologies and digital applications necessary for the management of company processes for production, logistics and product shipping.

2004

BONFANTI e ITALGRU move to Ambivere (BG) in a large industrial site 130,000 mq with 26,000 mq of covered productive area, 2,000 mq of offices and 2,500 mq of spare parts and maintenance warehouse.

The new headquarters uses very close transport infrastructure: 5 km from the freeway, 20 km from Milan-Bergamo airport and Bergamo train station.

2000

BONFANTI creates automatic systems for the handling of heavy and/or bulky materials, automatic warehouses, palletisers, manipulators for changing moulds, transfer shuttles, steelworks and waste treatment.

1995

BONFANTI acquires ITALGRU (now Italgru Srl), combining their vast experience in heavy lifting and mechanical technologies

Mr. Renato Bonfanti, founder of BONFANTI SRL in the 1960s, now becomes President of the Board of Directors of both companies, while his son Fabrizio Bonfanti is appointed CEO of ITALGRU.

1990

The new operational headquarters is inaugurated in Cisano Bergamasco, in the province of Bergamo.

The area consists of 4000 m2 dedicated to the factory and 1000 m2 dedicated to offices.

1980

BONFANTI develops the first automatic systems for printing cylinder handling through washing and coppering processes.

Automatic systems for the handling of coils and an automatic system for the handling and storage of plastic film reels were created.

1970

The 70'

Start of overhead crane production for the industrial market.

1960/70

In the 1960s and 1970s, the ITALGRU brand reached a significant milestone when it supplied 90 mobile mobile cranes to the Italian military engineering corps and began to become a recognized name in the Italian market.

1960

Foundation of Bonfanti S.r.l.

Foundation of the company by Mr Renato Bonfanti. The headquarters are in Calolziocorte (Lecco).
Start of crane and lifting systems maintenance activities. Introduction of the supply of mechanical and structural components suitable for revamping activities on existing cranes.

1954

Foundation of ITALGRU S.p.A. by a private group of investors to develop, design and manufacture mobile cranes on truck, port cranes and off-shore cranes.

Anticipating market trends is an integral part of ITALGRU’s philosophy and the company took an important step forward when it presented its AG 30 model truck cranes that were designed with a maximum capacity of 30 tonnes. The AG 30 crane was the largest truck crane being produced in Italy at the time.
